Crimson River Eindhoven, Netherlands
Crimson River is a metal band from Eindhoven in The Netherlands and was founded in 2011. Catchy riffs and flaming guitar solos characterize the sound. Strong influences from the New Wave of British Heavy dominate. In addition, the 10-string B.C. Rich Bich and some slide guitar can provide a 70's classic rock vibe. Trad metal with a dark, gothic leaning. The album blurb talks about the band seeking to deliver a timeless sound on the record and I think they nailed it. Everything you want from a traditional metal album is delivered in spades. Great riffs, great melodies and the production quality is excellent. The thing that holds a lot of good bands back from being great is the quality of the singing. The vocals are a real strength on this record, capturing the energy of the songs perfectly. Superb record!

Nosferatu on the cover is a good indicator of what's to happen. Good riffs on this little threefer. Their other album is a definite buy also. Perfect for serenading the grandkids to sleep. Just kidding. This shit will wake 'em up and get them moving. It'd be cool checking out this band live.
